Prospect Avenue to Close for Highway Work
SAN DIEGO – Due to upcoming weather conditions the California Department of Transportation has modified the work schedule on the State Route 52 Sunny Side Gateway Project. A bridge concrete pour scheduled for Thursday evening has been moved up to Tuesday evening starting at 9.
During this closure Prospect Avenue will be closed between Magnolia and Graves avenues. The road is scheduled to re-open by 5 Wednesday morning.
This closure is in addition to the work in the area where the northbound Prospect Avenue off-ramp and Broadway/Graves Avenue on-ramp will also be closed from 9 each night until 5 in the morning. Motorists from westbound Interstate 8 needed access to northbound SR-67 will be detoured to Graves Avenue and follow the signs to the Woodside Avenue on-ramp to northbound SR-67.
Construction crews will also close the southbound on-ramp from Magnolia Avenue and the northbound on-ramp from Bradley Avenue beginning an hour earlier at 8.
Crews will place detour signs to assist motorists around the closures.
These closures will allow workers to erect frames for the new ramp that will connect northbound SR-67 to the westbound lanes of the new SR-52 highway currently under construction.
