Two-Night Closure/Detour Planned For State Route 905
SAN DIEGO – A closure planned tonight for State Route 905 (SR-905) between Otay Mesa and Siempre Viva roads will take place again on Thursday night, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
SR-905 will be closed both nights at 8 p.m. and reopen at 5 a.m. as construction crews prepare to shift traffic to a newly-constructed detour just east of the freeway. This alternate route will open Friday at 5 a.m. and remain in place for a year to allow work on the eastbound Airway Road bridge over SR-905.
Northbound motorists will be directed around the night closures at Siempre Viva Road to Enrico Fermi Drive. The detour will be in the opposite direction for southbound travelers.
The work is part of the SR-905 Project which is scheduled for completion at the end of 2010.
