Detour Cancelled on Interstate 8 At Brock Research Center Drive in Winterhaven
SAN DIEGO – Motorists are advised that the detour around a full closure on westbound Interstate 8 (I-8) in Imperial County spanning one half mile in either direction of Brock Research Center Drive in Winterhaven has been cancelled until further notice, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Workers encountered unexpected construction delays that will also postpone the eastbound I-8 detour planned for next week.
The alternative routes are needed so that crews can install a water pipeline as part of the Drop 2 Storage Reservoir Project sponsored by the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation.
