This proposal must include: 1) Revised staging plans 2) Revised schedule, including revised staging showing satisfactory progress is maintained in preceding stages 3) Statement of cost savings. ” Question=Which of the below interpretations is correct?
1) Will it take written permission from the Engineer to deviate from
the depicted staging? 2) a. Requested “proposal” is for information
only…any costs or time savings are to be retained by the contractor and
be reflected in the bid price. b. A change order/crip will be required
for the purpose of revised staging plans. As such the State will seek a
credit for the associated savings in time & costs.

Permanent steel casing. Question= 1. Can permanent
steel pipe at Bent 2, for RR shoring, be oversized (108" or 102")? 1. The increase in casing size will have to be evaluated by the Design and Geotechnical Engineers for structural capacity. There is not currently enough time prior to bid opening to analyze this proposed modification. 2. Corrugated Metal Pipe is not currently an option for pile casings. 3. Vibration of permanent steel casing is allowed at the locations listed in the table following the sixth paragraph of section 10-1.59 Piling of the special provisions. 4. Optional construction joints are not currently allowed on this project. The contractor may propose the use of an optional construction joint, but it will have to be analyzed by the Design and Geotechnical Project Engineers. |
