    2. IS 1/2"x22"x9'-9.5" PLATE SHAPE PAINT ONLY, NO GALVANIZING?+

Question= IS SPOT BLASTING AND PAINTING REQUIRED FOR ALL EXISTING SURFACES OR JUST METAL EXPOSED AFTER SHOTCRETE?

Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=

Question= THE TIMBER LAGGING IS BOWED BETWEEN THE VERTICAL PILES. ATTACHMENT
OF THE CHANNEL TO ONE OF THE PILES WILL CAUSE THE OTHER END TO BE 2 TO 3
INCHES FROM THE PILE. THIS GAP IS TOO LARGE FOR A FILLET WELD. WHAT IS THE
PROCEEDURE TO CLOSE THIS GAP IN ORDER TO PLACE THE FILLET WELD?

  • Bid per the current details shown on the plans.

   Q:07/25/08
   R:07/31/08

Plan Sheet / Specification Reference= SHEET 10 OF TEN DETAIL A

Question= SHEET 10 OF TEN DETAIL A

WELD ARROWS ARE POINTING TO THE BEARING PLATE OF THE TIEBACKS. THIS PLATE
WILL BE WELDED TO THE VERTICAL BEAM. HOW IS THE 1/2"X22" PLATE ATTACHED TO
THE VERTICAL BEAM?

THE WELD ARROW POINTING TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BEARING PLATE INDICATES A
1/4" WELD. THERE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE ANY BACKING FOR A FILLET WELD. IS
THIS THE CORRRECT WELD TO ATTACH TWO PLATES TOGETHER AT THIS LOCATION?

  • The weld arrows point to the weld of the 1/2" x 22" plate, around the bearing plate to the face of the existing soldier pile. There is no welding to the existing tieback bearing plate. Bid per the details shown on the plans.
