Plan Sheet / Specification Reference= Item 14 Screenings, Section 10-1-18 Screenings gradation, age 51

Question= The special provisions for this contract specifically at Section 10-1-18, contains an out of date specification. There have been many improvements implemented over the last several years which are reflected in NSSP 37-030 E A05-01-06 including but not limited to cover aggregate size, paving grade asphalt type, CRM content, etc. It is our firms suggestion that the above referenced NSSP should be utilized for this project.
If the current specifications are not changed there is a high probability that wheel path flushing (bleeding) will occur, and the quality of the asphalt-rubber chip seal will be greatly reduced. Please
advise.

  • Please refer to Addendum No. 1 dated 09/24/08.
