Question= Plan says; Existing clay tile roof to remain – inspect, patch and repair as necessary. This is a very open ended requirement and there’s no way of knowing what the extent of the work is without climbing up on the roof and inspecting it. Does your insurance cover this for all the people that are bidding this job? From the ground, the roof tiles appear to be okay, is there any work that we should include that is not visible from the ground? Also, the roof tiles appear to be very old, and an unusual size. If repairing is needed what tile should we use for as a basis for bidding? (I doubt this size is available at all).

Question= The plans I purchased are not a true half size set of plans, and there is a huge lack of dimensions on every page. For example, sheet A-004, A-121, neither of these pages gives the size of the area that the pavers are being re-set We need either a true half size set of plans so that we can scale the dimensions or a plan that shows every dimension of the work.

The Lead Paint Survey provided by JMR Environmental Services, Inc.
identified various components (i.e. cabinets, doors/frames,
windows/frames, trim, etc.) which tested positive for lead based paint.
The majority of the listed components are scheduled to be demolished as
part of this project. However, there appears to be three exterior doors
which are to be removed and salvaged for re-use.

Plan Sheet / Specification Reference= Addenda # 2, Page No. 1 Wage Rates Question= I’m not clear on which wage rate determination applies to this job; Page 2 of the contract documents refers to the California Department of Industrial Relations for determination, which means it’s State Prevailing Wage Rates. Addenda # 2 refers to a “revision to the Federal minimum wage rates” which is different than State. Page 2 of the “Notice to Contractors” has not been modified, therefore this is a conflict..
The Director of the Department of Industrial Relations determines State prevailing wage rates, which can be obtained by accessing the Department of Industrial Relations website at http://www.dir.ca.gov. Also find the predetermined increases applicable to each craft/classification. Click on the subheading of Statistics and Research, then General Prevailing Wage Determinations Menu (Journeyman). Finally, look for the location by county and/or region. The Federal prevailing wage rates for this project are predetermined by the United States Secretary of Labor and are available through the US Department of Labor’s website at http://www.access.gpo.gov/davisbacon/ca.html Obtain federal wage rates that are in effect within ten (10) days of bid opening.

Shelving size in spec is called out at 18”d, while plan A-121 shows scaled size at 12”d. Also, shelving elevation is not clear (6levels at 13.5” centers will not fit in the specified height restriction). Specification of ¾” shelving recess in carriage design is proprietary. Can a clarification be provided on what shelving sizes are required?
