Plan Sheet / Specification
Reference=Item 34, Minor Conc Wall Footing, Plan sheet # 7 'C-3' Question=Plans do not provide existing grade @ top of footing. Plan indicates TF Grade of 160.18 for first 33.251 m, then TF Grade of 160.86 for final 33.251 m. Therefore there will be a step of 680 mm at midpoint. Typical section is drawn to look as if top of footing will be same grade as existing section but it will not be. At mid point it will be at least 680 mm below existing. How does Contractor determine top of footing depth below existing? What is placed on area from top of footing to match existing surface and how is that material paid for? The wall is 66.502 m long, per typical footing is 2 m wide & 450 mm thick, which would total 59.852 m3. Bid item is a "Final pay quantity" of 40 m3. Have we misunderstood the footing dimensions?
