Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=Special Provisions Section 10-1.14 Furnish Sign

Question=Where is the sign and how do you propose to pay for it?

  •  There are no signs that the contract requires. However, should the contractor elects to place construction area signs, the signs should meet sections 10-1.05 and as referred to sections 10-1.14.

Q: 07/01/05

Plan Sheet / Specification Reference=Site visitation

Question=Looking at the site it is apparent that there is an enormous amount of state owned material that is stored on top of the area of work (everything from pipe to watertanks). Also paint has been spilled and slopped around on the ground both in the shed and practice striping areas. Some of this paint is yellow and looks old. Can we be assured that there is no hazardous waste in the areas that are designated for excavation? Who will move all of the material that is currently in the way of persuing the work?

  • The state owned material currently stored on top of the work area will be moved by the state prior to  start of construction and as per the stage construction plans.
  • Since the paint will  not be ground by itself,  it will not be  considered as  hazardous. The removal of the yellow paint an the asphalt together creates a non-hazardous waste.
