Caltrans District 11 Construction Department has developed this method of answering Bidder's Inquiries to better serve the needs of the Contractors who bid on our Projects. Caltrans District 11 Construction Department will post all of the questions submitted by any of the contractors that are registered Planholders for that Contract, but reserves the right to not answer any questions deemed unsatisfactory for public viewing.
The BIDDER'S INQUIRIES & RESPONSES will be updated continuously and all attempts will be made to do the final posting by 15:00 on Wednesday prior to the bid opening.

The warranty period is five years, but payment for the warranty will be in 6 equal payments.  Isn't that 6 years?

  • No. Per Section 10-1.20 WARRANTY under subsection GENERAL of the Special Provisions, if a separate warranty period is established then a payment will made at the completion of the first year for each separate warranty followed by a payment for the second through fifth succeeding year to equal 6 payments. If there is no separate warranty period established then a contract change order shall be issued to reduce the payments from 6 to 5 equal payments.

  • A 1.2 meter from the edge of the pavement will be excluded from the ESA only at the locations where MBGR work will be performed as shown on sheet X-2 of the project plans.
