Public Information

The Caltrans District 1 Office of Public Information provides information about Caltrans projects, activities, and road conditions to the general public, news media, and other state and local government agencies. We provide information for the counties of Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, and Mendocino.

We publish the weekly Road Information Bulletin to keep the public informed of projects that may affect the normal flow of traffic. We provide press releases and hold press conferences and special media events. We provide materials such as photographs and charts to the media. We provide public education by distributing materials such as the Winter Driving Tips, Don't Drink and Drive, and the Slow for the Cone Zone brochures. We also oversee the information published on this website, project blogs, and social media.

If you have questions about Caltrans activities, projects, or the State Highway System within District 1, feel free to call or write the District 1 Public Information Office.
