710 Tunnel Technical Study Information
Final Geotechnical Summary Report
Draft Geotechnical Summary Report Ready for Review
The State Route 710 Tunnel Technical Study has completed its mission to gather data on geological conditions within five geographic zones.
Data collection and field exploration work, as part of the Study’s Exploration Program, has been reviewed and evaluated. Descriptions of geology, faulting, seismicity, material properties, hazardous materials, groundwater conditions, and tunneling considerations are provided in depth in the SR-710 Tunnel Study DRAFT Geotechnical Summary Report.
The Executive Summary of the DRAFT Geotechnical Summary Report contains an abbreviated review of the data, which in its entirety contains several volumes.
The Study information provides Caltrans and Metro a preliminary basis for evaluating the feasibility of tunneling within each zone. The two partnering agencies will determine the next steps. In the interim, the DRAFT Geotechnical Summary Report provides an efficient base and sufficient information to compare zones from a geotechnical perspective.
