Construction

Considerable planning and coordination has gone into the development of this project in an effort to minimize disruption to businesses, services, pedestrian access, and vehicle traffic. While there will be unavoidable impacts due to the nature of construction activities we hope continued updates through press releases, the project webpage, and close communication with adjacent businesses and properties directly impacted that disruptions will be minimized. The following has been included in the project:

  • Length of construction activities will be limited (to minimize disruptions each section will have to be completed before moving on to the next).
  • Night construction from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM (with consideration of the City of Bishop’s noise ordinance in effect at 11:00 PM).
  • Lane closures from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM (with one lane remaining open in each direction).
  • Access to businesses and services will remain open during business hours and be closely coordinated with affected owners.
  • One week closure of Line Street between Main Street and Warren Street for cross drainage improvements.
  • Work planned to avoid impacts to Mule Days, Opener of Fishing Season, and 4th of July.
