Caltrans District 4-State Route 29 Channelization Project-Ribbon Cutting-St. Helena
On September 1, 2016, Caltrans District 4 and its project partners joined in a ribbon cutting celebration for the State Route 29 (SR-29) Channelization Project in Napa County.
The event marked the completion of major work on the $16.7 million dollar project which brought multiple safety improvements to this vital route through the Napa Valley. The project widened SR-29, rehabilitated the pavement, widened highway shoulders and constructed a new two-way left turn lane making the route safer for the approximately 22,000 daily drivers who travel on SR-29 near St. Helena.

On April 20, 2016, Caltrans District 4 held their annual Workers Memorial Ceremony to remember the workers who lost their lives in the performance of their duties. The ceremony gives Caltrans workers the opportunity to pay tribute to their co-workers, and to re-dedicate themselves to their safety and the safety of their co-workers and the traveling public.
KCBS reporter Anna Duckworth was the guest speaker and event emcee. The event was held at the Caltrans Bay Bridge Maintenance Building, located at 200 Burma Road in Oakland. News media was invited to attend the ceremony.
