Northbound I-805 Closures in the Golden Triangle
SAN DIEGO ––Caltrans will close northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road to Interstate 5 (I-5) Sunday through Thursday nights from 9:30 to 5 in the morning. The closures are needed for striping and barrier work to prepare for the opening of the new carpool lanes and a Direct Access Ramp (DAR).
Northbound motorists will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) to northbound I-5. Local traffic will be permitted to exit at I-805 at Governor Drive and Nobel Drive.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard and a south-facing Direct Access Ramp at Carroll Canyon Road.
The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNetExtension funds.
