Welcome to the online California Film Permit Application.
Due to state mandated furloughs, The California Film Commission is required to be closed three days each month. During July, our office will be closed on July 10, 17, and 24. Starting in August 2009 the CFC will be closed on the first, second and third Fridays of each month. Due to the shortened work schedule, all permit applications must be submitted four (4) business days prior to the first prep/shoot day. (For road closures, a meeting is required twelve (12) business days prior to filming.)
A permit is required whenever filming takes place on state property. The California
Film Commission is a one stop shop for State permits and will assist you in obtaining
the required approvals from the CHP, Caltrans, State Parks, Facilities and the
State Fire Marshal, where necessary.
