FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sacramento – Caltrans is alerting motorists that traffic-interfering work is scheduled to close the eastbound Del Paso Road loop on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) beginning Sunday night for pavement repairs.

The work is scheduled for seven days beginning 9 p.m. Sunday, May 12 through 9 p.m. Sunday, May 19. No two consecutive ramps will be closed concurrently. The extended closure is necessary for worker and motorists’ safety.

LOCATION:

  • Eastbound Del Paso Road loop on-ramp to I-5 northbound (Redding) in north Natomas.

DETOUR:

  • Motorists can continue eastbound to East Commerce Way and make a U-turn to use the westbound Del Paso Road slip on-ramp to northbound I-5 (Redding).
  •  Motorists can also use the Arena Boulevard on-ramp as an alternate route for northbound I-5.

Nearby residents should expect to hear loud, intermittent noises from heavy construction equipment, including vehicle back-up warning alarms.

Motorists should expect delays and plan for additional travel time for their commute.
Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements. The department will issue construction updates on @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3.
