I-8 CMCP Virtual Public Meeting Scheduled for Wednesday Evening, March 20

SAN DIEGOCaltrans and SANDAG are hosting a virtual public meeting on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the Interstate 8 Corridor Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan (CMCP), also known as the Kumeyaay Corridor CMCP. CMCP’s evaluates all travel modes and transportation facilities in a study area using real-time travel data and incorporating public input. The virtual public meeting will showcase possible transportation innovations that will transform the way people and goods move through the central region of San Diego.

The Kumeyaay Corridor CMCP study area is a two-mile wide east-west transportation corridor that runs along I-8 and is located on traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Kumeyaay people.

The study area includes parts of the cities of San Diego, Santee, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, and El Cajon, as well as the County of San Diego. Major transportation facilities in the study area include I-8 and its connections with Interstate 5, Interstate 805, Interstate 15, State Route 125, State Route 67, and State Route 163, San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Green and Orange Line Trolleys and multiple MTS bus routes, as well as local roadways, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities.
