One of the California Department of Transportation's (Caltrans) goals is Mobility – Maximize transportation system performance and accessibility. In support of this goal, Caltrans created the ADA Infrastructure Program .

Caltrans ADA Infrastructure Program LogoThe objective of the ADA Infrastructure Program is to make Caltrans infrastructure equally accessible to persons with disabilities.

Caltrans does not discriminate on the basis of disability and believes in providing equal access to all of its infrastructure, programs, services, and activities. Caltrans is committed to working with its partners to identify and address access barriers to its infrastructure.

In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Caltrans has designated a Statewide ADA Coordinator who is responsible to coordinate ADA compliance across the State. Caltrans has also established a website where access barriers can be reported.
