Online Catalog – Search the Transportation Library’s holdings using OCLC’s Worldshare Discovery
Research Assistance – Caltrans staff only
Literature Searches – Caltrans staff only
Document Delivery – Caltrans staff only
Literature databases – Selected subscription based databases available to Caltrans staff only. Several free transportation databases available to website visitors are listed under Online Resources.
Interlibrary Loan – Available to current Caltrans staff and other member libraries including state DOT libraries. Non-Caltrans visitors should contact their local library, either public or academic, to make a request.
Circulation Information
Library materials are available for circulation to current Caltrans employees from all districts and their consultants only. A selection of library materials are available to other libraries including all state transportation libraries through the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) program. The Transportation Library does not loan directly to individuals, businesses or private firms. Individuals should request materials through their local library – public, academic, corporate or government agency.
Reference, all historical materials, and maps are not available for loan and can be used only in the library.
Selected transportation and history materials are available to public visitors for use in-house only. By appointment only.
The librarian reserves the right to grant or deny any request based on his/her discretion.
