On Friday, June 28, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Mr. Tom Langton, managing director of Herpetofauna Consultants International, will be presenting "Wildlife Crossing for Amphibians and Reptiles."
Even Information Many amphibians and reptiles in California are listed as threatened or endangered. Highways pose movement barriers for many of these and other sensitive small animal species. In this presentation Tom Langton will lead a discussion and highlight considerations for designing and emplacing effective small-animal crossings for highways in California to enhance population connectivity. |

Presenter Information Tom Langton is the managing director of Herpetofauna Consultants International based in England. He has extensive experience in the impacts of roads on small animals, particularly herpetiles, and in the mitigation of those impacts. He has authored or co-authored many works on animal road crossings including (with Andrew Hamer and David Lesbarrères) a chapter on mitigating road impacts on amphibians. Currently, he is assisting with a comprehensive review of small ecopassages for vertebrates for Johns Hopkins Press. |
