Garberville is a stop on the Amtrak Motor Coach route which serves the North Coast of California, starting in Eureka, and meeting San Joaquin trains in Martinez. This bus also serves McKinleyville, Arcata, Eureka, Fortuna, Scotia/Rio Dell, Leggett, Laytonville, Willits, Ukiah, Cloverdale and Healdsburg.

The Garberville stop is located at the entrance to the Waterwheel Restaurant, 924 Redwood Drive, 95440. The stop is not staffed by Amtrak, thus, no tickets are sold there, nor are baggage or package express handled. The nearest stop offering those services in Martinez. You may purchase tickets when boarding the bus, or from an Amtrak travel agent, by phone at 1-800-USA-RAIL, or over the internet at http://tickets.amtrak.com.

Garberville is a convenient jumping off point for vacations and touring along California's North Coast. There are several state parks in the vicinity, including Humboldt Redwoods and Richardson Grove. Within Garberville itself are the Garberville Arts Festival in the late spring, and an outdoor Shakespeare Festival in midsummer.

Each June, there is an arts and crafts festival at nearby Benbow State Recreation Area.
