Carson City, NV

EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1, 2006, the Capitol Corridor  has decided to discontinue all
Amtrak California Motor Coach service to CARSON CITY, NEVADA. 

The Amtrak Motor Coach stop in Carson City is located on Robinson Street just off Carson (US 50 & 395) beside The Nugget Casino zip = 89701. This location is unstaffed by Amtrak. Therefore, there are no tickets sold at this site, nor can checked baggage or package express be handled. The nearest Amtrak station offering those services is Reno, Nv. Tickets may be purchased from almost any Travel Agent, from the Amtrak ticket office in Reno, over the telephone at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) or on the Internet from Amtrak's National Web Site http://tickets.amtrak.com.

The stop is located in central Carson City, only a few blocks from the Nevada State Capitol and other Nevada State Offices, museums, libraries and parks. The Nevada State Railroad Museum is about a twenty minute walk south of the Amtrak stop.

Virginia City, one of the largest historical attractions anywhere is just north of Carson City. A trip to the railroad museum just wouldn't be complete without a short ride on the Virginia & Truckee Railroad out of Virginia City.
