REDDING – Months', sometimes years' worth of planning go into the many Caltrans projects. When it comes to bridge demolition, careful coordination and monitoring is a necessity when placing the charges or looking at the effects of the blast on the surrounding environment. And timing can be critical. But what happens when Mother Nature gets involved?

In this Caltrans News Flash, we will show you how Caltrans recently had to quickly switch gears when the first demolition of the old Antler's Bridge in Shasta County was impacted by severe weather that produced an unexpected outcome.
