Introduction

The Division of Research and Innovation (DRI) strategic plan was revised in the fall of 2004. The following elements helped guide the development of the plan:

  • Division management believed it needed to reevaluate the goals and objectives that were developed several years ago to ensure they represented how business is conducted today.
  • Business processes were being revised and staff required a clear strategic direction to help guide their efforts.
  • The main focus of the 2002 Strategic Plan was to restructure the project selection to a customer focused process. This has been successfully implemented and the Division needs to continue to focus on meeting all stakeholders’ needs.

The strategic plan includes a revised purpose statement; a listing of services DRI offers its customers and items that make DRI unique; revisited goals, objectives and performance measures; and a strategic planning calendar. An Action Plan template developed from the goals and objectives is located in the Appendices.
