What is the purpose of the Statewide Travel Model?The Statewide Travel Model is designed to bring a better estimate of inter-regional trips to regional travel demand models and to provide long distance travel estimates across multiple regions.
What is the Statewide Travel Model NOT good for?The Statewide Travel Model is not intended to supplant existing or future regional travel demand models. Those models are inherently more detailed within their respective areas.

What is the MVSTAFF? The California Motor Vehicle Stock Travel, and Fuel Forecast (MVSTAFF) annual report updates, estimates, and forecasts the annual statewide and countywide number of vehicles, vehicle miles of travel (VMT), vehicle fuel consumption (VFC), and vehicle fuel economy (VFE).
What kind of information can I find in the MVSTAFF?The MVSTAFF includes consistent estimates and forecasts of statewide vehicles, VMT, VFC, and VFE.It also furnishes VMT by county and by road system (state highway and non-state highway), VFC by county and by fuel type (gasoline or diesel), and Statewide truck VMT by vehicle weight (GVW) classes.
