Office of Travel Forecasting and Analysis (OTFA)
The Office of Travel Forecasting and Analysis maintains and supports a wide variety of transportation related models, provides technical and analytical support for travel forecasting related data collection, maintains and analyzes U.S. Census data, produces Federal and other mandated reports, maintains the Federally mandated Highway Performance Monitoring System.
The office maintains, operates and provides district and regional support for microsimulation, travel demand and air quality impact models. It provides district and regional support for microsimulation, travel demand and air quality impact models, as well as operating and maintaining models for each system. The office maintains and analyzes U.S. Census files and disseminates information available in the Census Transportation Planning Package. The Office of Travel Forecasting and Analysis produces annual reports on statewide truck travel, vehicle miles traveled, vehicle stock, and fuel forecasts. The office maintains condition and performance data in the Highway Performance Monitoring System and officially certifies the annual report on maintained public road mileage for the State of California.
