Office of Performance Measures and Data Analysis
The Office of Performance Measures and Data Analysis collects and analyzes report statistics related to the fiscal status, physical and geometric extent, performance, condition, and designation of the State's roadway systems. The key outcome is enabling decision makers and system users to take advantage of quality transportation information to make performance-based decisions about transportation services and infrastructure. To this end the office:
- Works with federal, local, and State jurisdictions and agencies to report transportation related expenditures and income to help decision makers better understand California's fiscal picture;
- Administers public roads functional classification and designation approvals to secure and distribute State and federal funding;
- Manages naming of State roadways, structures, and appurtenances;
- Partnering with federal and local agencies, manages urban and rural area designations and maintains the official California Road System map set; and
- Supports performance-based decision making by exercising leadership in implementing Transportation System Performance Measures at the national, state, and regional levels.
