1. Right click on the metadata button.
2. Choose "Save Target As" and save it on your computer.
   Note: Saving the metadata does not save the stylesheet. The saved metadata will be in raw XML format.

Legacy metadata in the process of being updated is designated with:   (Note: This metadata is mainly in PDF format.)
Non-legacy metadata is in FGDC compliant format.

The Caltrans GIS Data Library is available in ESRI shapefile format.

The GIS Data library catalog is for Caltrans use, and cannot be used for downloading data. Caltrans employees should contact their District GIS Coordinator concerning access to the data. Non-Caltrans users can access some of the more widely used transportation data via the California Environmental Resource Evaluation System (CERES) data library website: California Spatial Information Library (CASIL).

The REVIEWED column indicates whether older (4 years +) data has been actively reviewed. Unreviewed data is indicated by 'no review'.

Data that is new or has been updated in the last 3 months since the last time the page was updated is highlighted with orange.

Data sharing restriction categories apply on proprietory data, as follows:
Category I data are public domain and available to share with Caltrans partners.
Category II data are proprietary data with special licensing agreements. These data are NOT available to share with Caltrans partners.
