MAP-21 Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century

MAP-21 Reauthorization

Congress is currently debating what a reauthorization of MAP-21 should look like.  Caltrans has identified a number of general issues that should be addressed in the solution.  These include a long-term bill that will allow for stability and planning, a fix-it-first priority, increased and sustainable funding, investment in multimodal freight movement, climate preparedness, increased investment in transit, more funding for the Transportation Alternatives Program, ongoing efforts to streamline the project delivery process, and increased funding for the Tribal Transportation Program.  Caltrans will continue to solidify and elaborate priorities in partnership with the many transportation stakeholders throughout the state through ongoing discussions and workshops.
