County of Nevada - Project approval amendment to modify the scope of the County of Nevada bus purchase project. The County of Nevada had planned to purchase four, (CNG) El Dorado / Cummins MST transit buses featured on the Department of General Services (DGS) purchasing list, but a road test of the El Dorado MST showed it lacked acceleration capability needed to allow for safe usage in a foothill environment. Recently, the Ford El Dorado Aerotech transit bus was added to the DGS purchasing list, which is CNG-powered and adequate for use in their service area. With the addition of local funds, the County was able to purchase seven new Conga-powered transit buses, which will add seven more seats (for a total of 119) to the fleet without additional expenditure of Proposition 116 Non-Urban Program funds. (2.1d.) (Concurrent Allocation Amendment under 2.6c.(1).) |

County of Sutter - Project Approval Amendment to modify the scope of the Sutter Commuter Bikeway project. The County completed a bike path segment and one of two approved bike lane segments, but was unable to complete the second bike lane segment with the Proposition 116 funds programmed for the project. The County is requesting deletion of the unconstructed bike lane segment from the project scope. The Commission has allocated $1,246,566 for this project. Reimbursements to the County for the project total $1,207,822. (Concurrent Allocation Amendment under Item 2.6c.(2).) |

Apr. 3, 2002 Item 2.1d.(2) |
Nevada County - Project Approval Amendment to PA-00-15 to amend two projects as follows: -- Transit Vehicle Turn Pocket project - reduce the amount programmed from $34,500 to $29,578. This project was completed with cost savings of $4,922. -- Bus Shelters - increase the amount of Proposition 116 funds on this project from $31,500 to $36,422 and include $1,492 in local funds. This amendment will also reduce the number of bus shelters to be constructed from 14 to 8. The increased cost and reduced number of shelters is due to the County's selection of a shelter type that is larger and better suited to the changing environment in Nevada County. (Concurrent De-Allocation Amendment under 2.6c.(1)) and Allocation under 2.6b.(3).) |
