SAN DIEGO "SOUTHBAY EXPRESSWAY"
A private 10-mile toll road was constructed in 2007 from SR-54 in Spring Valley to Otay Mesa Road/SR-905 in Otay Mesa near the Mexican Border. This private road will operate as a toll road for 35 years, at which time the State will take ownership. For more information, see the website: http://www.southbayexpressway.com.
For maps, see the website: http://www.southbayexpressway.com/how-to-use-sbx/where-sbx-takes-you.
Trucks are allowed to use this toll road, according to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) on this website: https://csc.southbayexpressway.com/Content/faq.html.
Tolls vary based on how far you are traveling and the number of axles on your vehicle. To calculate toll fees for 2-axle vehicles, go to the main page at: http://www.southbayexpressway.com and use the Toll Calculator in the right column. To calculate the toll fees for trucks and other vehicles with 3 or more axles, first determine the fees required for a 2-axle vehicle. Vehicles with 3-4 axles pay two times the 2-axle toll rate, and vehicles with 5 axles pay three times the 2-axle toll rate.
FasTrak® can be used on all toll roads and toll bridges in California, including the Southbay Expressway. For more information about FasTrak®, see this website: http://www.bayareafastrak.org. For FastTrak® on the Southbay Expressway, see this website: https://csc.southbayexpressway.com/newaccount/newacct.aspx.
