What is Local Programs?
What is Local Assistance?

They are TWO distinct and important Divisions of Caltrans.

Right of Way, Local Programs, under the Division of Right of Way and Land Surveys are the non-engineering experts in all aspects of real estate (right of way) matters that affect the local public agency projects.

The Local Assistance Program, under the Division of Local Assistance in Headquarters and in 12 District Offices, oversees more than one billion dollars annually available to over 600 cities, counties and regional agencies for the purpose of improving their transportation infrastructure or providing transportation services.
