SB 10, Senator Kehoe-San Diego, District 39, (San Diego County Regional Airport Authority)
This bill would amend sections of the Public Utilities Code. The bill, known as the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Reform Act of 2007, was amended many times to improve the Authority's governance structure and fiscal accountability while promoting long-range planning at San Diego County airports including the international airport (Lindbergh Field). Ensuring frequent updates and consistency between land use planning documents are also important features of the bill. SB 10 calls for a Regional Aviation Strategic Plan, an Airport Multimodal Accessibility Plan and a new comprehensive plan for Lindbergh Field.

SB 140, Senator Kehoe-San Diego, District 39, (Coauthor: Assembly member Hancock) (Fuels: renewable diesel fuel)
Passage of this bill would require diesel fuel sold in California for internal combustion engines to contain some renewable diesel fuel. The addition of renewable diesel fuel into the current supply will be monitored, regulated, staged and checked for conflicts with other laws and standards.

SB 597, Senator Oropeza-Carson, District 28, (Aerospace Business)
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to support the attraction of new aerospace business to the State of California.

SB 798, Senator Battin-La Quinta, District 37, (Aircraft operation)
This bill would add a new chapter to the State Aeronautics Act called FLIGHT SCHOOLS. Those who offer general aviation flight instruction in the state would be required to submit a background check request to DOJ for those who apply for instruction. One person in the flight school shall be designated to handle the DOJ request and keep the results private.

SB 881, Senator Runner-Antelope Valley, District 17, (Airports)
This bill currently states that the CA Department of Transportation will provide some funds to help acquire the development rights for Santa Paula Airport, only after US DOT approves a pilot program for the same purpose.

AB 700, Assembly Member Lieu-Torrance, District 53 (Co-Author: Assembly Member Brownley), (Santa Monica Airport)
The City of Santa Monica will establish a committee to review studies and data regarding the airport in Santa Monica and then send a report to the FAA and the Legislature. The report will offer suggestions to reduce air quality impacts from operations at Santa Monica airport. The bill calls for many elected officials and stakeholders to participate on the committee which will meet at least four times a year. The committee may also recommend more studies to the Legislature.

AB 916, Assembly Member Niello-Fair Oaks, District 5,(public contracts: alternative procurement procedure: County of Sacramento)
This bill would authorize an alternative method of procurement for airport-related construction projects in Sacramento County subject to the Board of Supervisors.

A federal bill to require the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency to conduct a feasibility study for applying airport "bubbles" as a method of identifying, assessing, and reducing the adverse environmental impacts of airport ground and flight operations and improving the overall quality of the environment, and for other purposes.

This bill is called the LAX Community Safety Act and would prevent the northernmost of LAX's four runways from being relocated further north as has been proposed by the airport's operator, Los Angeles World Airports.
