the 2006 update of the
California
Aviation System Plan (CASP)
Policy Element
as adopted
by the California Transportation
Commission on February 2,
2006. This document
replaces the previous Policy
Element of December 2001. Policies
contained in this document
outline the Division of Aeronautics’ (Division)
activities and will guide
the other
CASP
element
updates, as required by Public
Utilities Code Section 21701,
et seq.
This document
reflects issues influencing
current and future aviation
transportation, including
system planning guidance
from the Federal Aviation
Administration and the purpose,
mission, vision, and goals
of the California Department
of Transportation (Department).
In updating
the Policy Element, the Division
received input from the following
in order to meet the Department
goal of working collaboratively
with our partners: Aircraft
Owners and Pilots Association,
National Business Aviation
Association, Association
of California Airports, Southwest
Chapter of the American Association
of Airport Executives, the
Regional Transportation Planning
Agency Working Group, the
California Transportation
Commission’s Technical
Advisory Committee on Aeronautics,
the Federal Aviation Administration,
and other aviation stakeholders.
