FIRST AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT PROJECT IN DISTRICT 2 COMPLETE

PLUMAS COUNTY– The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 2 announces the completion of the State Route 36 Cold In-Place Recycle Pavement Project near Lake Almanor.  This was one of the first American Recovery and Reinvestment Projects awarded in District 2 as part of the Federal Government’s economic stimulus program.  This much needed pavement overlay on a vital interregional route put $1.5 million into local economies.

Cold In-Place Recycling, considered an environmentally innovative strategy, recycles existing roadway materials into the new pavement overlay, drastically reducing overall energy consumption and reducing green house gas emissions.
