PROPOSITION 1B PROJECT COMPLETED
RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY HELD TODAY IN PLUMAS LAKE
Plumas Lake – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today for the $21.8 million Plumas Lake Interchange in Yuba County. The project received $12.2 million from Proposition 1B, the 2006 voter-approved transportation bond.
“This project will relieve traffic congestion, is important to interregional commerce, and has boosted the area economy,” said Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. “When California voters approved Proposition 1B, they wanted action – and this is an example of that action.”
The Plumas Lake Interchange contract was awarded in August 2007. With major population growth anticipated in the area, the new interchange will provide residents with a safer and more convenient route to State Highway 70.
The completion ceremony took place at the intersection of Plumas Lake Boulevard and River Oaks Boulevard. Caltrans District 3 Director Jody Jones and elected local county officials joined in the celebration.
Since July 1, 2007, approximately $4 billion in Proposition 1B funding has been allocated by the California Transportation Commission and other state agencies.
