Susan Hogg
Deputy Director of Administration
Susan Hogg transferred from the California Department of Motor Vehicles to join the Caltrans team as Deputy Director of Administration, effective January 20, 2009. She brings more than 25 years of government experience at the local, regional and state level to this new assignment.
This appointee’s state service began in 1980 at the Department of Finance. About four years later, Hogg transferred to the Department of General Services (DGS) for a staff services manager I promotion in the management and consulting services section. Leaving state service in 1988 to join the Placer County Board of Supervisors, she returned to DGS in 1994. Between 1994 and 2005, Hogg worked at the Franchise Tax Board, the Governor’s Office of Innovation and California Performance Review. Until her current Caltrans transfer, she was deputy director for Field Operations at DMV.
Hogg’s academic education includes a master’s degree in criminal justice from the California State University, Sacramento and a bachelor‘s degree in social ecology from the University of California, Irvine. She also participated in the Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Executive E-Government Education Program.
Hogg’s broad expertise and knowledge of facility planning, human resources, succession planning, labor relations and training services will be utilized as she provides leadership to the Department’s administrators.
