Roundabout Intersections
The roundabout is a relatively new highway intersection concept that relies upon a circular traffic flow pattern and the use of YIELD control on each approach to the intersection. Since the roundabout is easily confused with other circular intersection types (e.g. traffic circles), this website has been established to provide access to general information, current technical policy and guidance on the topic.
Caltrans Policy
Basic information and the current Caltrans policy is contained in Design Information Bulletin No. 80-01.
Roundabouts: An Informational Guide
