This material has been developed as a training aid for engineers, technicians, and planners who expect to make frequent reference to the California Highway Design Manual, 5 th edition (July 1995), and other Caltrans highway design publications or documents. The trainee is encouraged to use the "hot linked" list of interactive features and publications (see frame to the left) to locate the specific design standards, policy, and guidance which is needed to complete this training exercise.
An average of 10 hours will be required to complete all 12 topics. It is recommended that the following modules be completed in sequential order; however, any topic may be selected depending on specific training needs:
