Subject:	Ramp Meter Design Manual January 2000

The Ramp Meter Design Guidelines have been updated, revised, and are now called the Ramp Meter Design Manual (RMDM) dated January 2000. The manual has been reviewed and approved by the Traffic Operations Program and Design and Local Programs, in cooperation with the Department of California Highway Patrol. In the future, the contents will be incorporated into the Highway Design Manual and other corporate manuals as appropriate.

The RMDM is now available on the internet through the Traffic Operations home page at http:/www.dot.ca.gov/hq/traffops/. Hard copies will be available by request from the Headquarters Publication Distribution unit. This edition supersedes all others previously distributed. Please distribute to all staff involved in ramp meter design.
