Subject: Issuance of 2006 Revised Standard
Plans
The following 2006 Revised Standard Plans (RSPs), dated
November 17, 2006, are being issued and distributed
in electronic format:

2006 Standard Plan based projects must include these
NSPs and RSPs, as applicable, for:
Projects in Division of Engineering Services - Office
Engineer (DES-OE) not Draft Contract Ready by November
20, 2006.
Projects, including AADD, received in the DES-OE after
November 20, 2006.
RSP A62DA: Revised D-Loads in tables.
RSP A87A: Note 10 was added to enhance implementation
of Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.
RSP P3: Revised the radius in Section B-B.
RSP P12:
1. Revised Note 4 to refer to Std Plans P1 and P2, and
RSP P3.
2. Added Note 5 for Section A-A to clarify that the
Contractor can weld either the top or bottom of the
dowel bar.
RSP P17:
1. Revised note in Section A-A to allow both arc and
resistance welds and to weld both ends of tie bars.
2. Added Note 5 to clarify that the Contractor can weld
either top or bottom of tie bar.
3. Deleted spacer wires from details. Instead, weld
both ends of tie bars rather than just one. Tie bars
can be welded on both ends because they do not need
to move like dowel bars.
RSP P18: In Case 3 detail, added "no tie bars"
to the note "Longitudinal Isolation Joint, See
Detail A."
RSP T7: Added FHWA logo.
RSP ES-7F: In the Pole Data table, the Min OD for Base
was revised from 13.5" to 12.5".
RSP ES-7G: In the Signal Arm Data table, the Min OD
at pole was revised from 12.5" to 12.25".
The listed RSPs are available in DGN , DWG and PDF file
format and are integrated into the list of 2006 Standard
Plans at Caltrans internet site:
