2. Neither the Plans nor the Informational Handout provide any information for the existing facilities/improvements to be removed mentioned in Special Provision Section 16-1.01, first paragraph. Please provide all information the State has regarding the existing facilities/improvements to be removed.
3. The CCWD Surge Relief/Pressure Reducing Station, shown on Plan Sheet U-1, appears to be located within the project Fill limits. Please provide a detail of the work at this location.

Response #2: 1. Soil disturbing activities are to be less than 1 acre, therefore the risk level does not apply. Refer to Section 13-2 "Water Pollution Control Program" of the 2010 Standard Specifications.
2. The existing facilities and improvements referenced in Section 16-1.01 of the Special Provisions are associated with remnants of a wooden bridge with concrete abutments, shown in the topography on Layout L-1 and Drainage Plan D-1 (sheets 3 and 4 of the plans).
3. The CCWD Surge Relief/Pressure Reducing Station is shown for information only. The Contractor is to work around this facility. Refer to Section 15 "Existing Facilities" of the 2010 Standard Specifications.

Inquiry #2: What will be happening with cabin on the south side of the highway? It looks like this will need to be removed for the creek realignment.
Also, what scope of work does Bid Item 13 Treated Wood Waste pertain to?

Response #2: The existing cabins will be removed by others prior to construction of this contract.
Refer to the "Roadside Sign Items" table on the Pavement Delineation and Sign Quantities plan (sheet 10 of 17) PDQ-1. Treated wood waste is associated with removal of sign posts.

Inquiry #3: When advance flaggers are required, the State has indicated this in the Special Provisions. Sheet 16, note 7 indicates that advance flaggers may be required. We find no reference to advance flaggers in the Special Provisions. Please confirm if advance flaggers are required.

Inquiry #4: Section 39-1.01 states "Produce and place HMA Type B under the Standard Construction Process." Bid item #35 Shows 150 Tons for HMA Type B. This should be changed to Method Process. The cost to the contractor under Standard Process for 150 Tons is huge.
Standard Process should be used for Tonnages over 1000. Will there be an adendum issued or will this be changed to Method?
