Inquiry #1: The Specials do not provide for payment of materials on hand for any items. Does Caltrans intend to allow for payment of materials on hand for the guardrail materials, including material coating treatments. Allowing for MOH would be a race neutral way of encouraging DBE participation on this Project.

Inquiry #2: This is a "Steel Guardrail Post" project, as such we will need to know material options for item #23 Guard Railing Delineators. I see no information in the plans or specials detailing installation or material options. Also, will Cal Trans want the delineators to be color matched to the guardrail?

Inquiry #3: Regarding bid item #19: Maintain Existing Planted Areas, the plans (Plan Sheet Q-8) show a total area of 50.51 acres to maintain. What are the limits of this acreage? Please clarify if this pertains only to previously-landscaped areas, or all areas in the right-of-way.

Response #2:The limit of the Maintain Existing Planted Areas is the same limit as the proposed MBGR work. This pertains to maintaining all existing planted areas within the Right of Way.

Inquiry #5: SHT 20 OF THE PROJECT PLANS SHOWS VEGETATION MAT PLACED AT ROAD SURFACE. EXISTING CONDITIONS ARE DIRT HIGHER THAT THE NEW DIKE. PLEASE ISSUE AN ADDENDA TO RESOLVE THIS APPARENT AMBIGUITY.

Response #2:Sheet 20 of project plans does not show vegetation material placed on road surface (paved surface). The vegetation material is pass the "edge of shoulder". "Dirt higher than new dike" condition is not seen on this sheet. Please bid per plans.
