Submit new inquiry for this projectInquiry #1: Bid item #9 seems unclear. Removal and replacement. Please advise as to what is expected with regards to. I am seeing it as applying the details on sheet #9 to the existing k-rail and leaving the k-rail in its current location.

Response #1:7/12/12: Your inquiry has been received and is being reviewed. Thank you for your patience.

Response #2:7/13/12: As shown on sheets L-2, C-1 and C-3, there is existing temporary railing (Type K) in place. Sheet C-3 shows the existing temporary railing (Type K) as pinned. Please refer to the "NOTE" under "Temporary Railing (Type K)" shown on sheet Q-1. In the process of completing the work, it is anticipated that the contractor may need to remove the existing temporary k-rail and then replace it in the same position upon completion of the work.

Inquiry #2: What is the location af the final placement of the K-rail? Is it intended to be installed in the same location as the existing K-rail, or does it get moved to the toe of the anchored mesh slope?
The existing K-rail is approximately 350' to 400' in length. Is the final placement to include additional K-rail provided by the contractor or others?
