Inquiry #1: In regards to Project No. 12-OJ4004 there are many variations with the stated specifications that put the Contractor at extreme risk regarding smoothness. After reviewing the specifications and plans it appears that the application is best suited for long stretches of Highway with ideal conditions. This project encumbers multiple issues that have a direct impact to the stated smoothness tolerance. This work differs from actual highway work, traveling through existing intersections with the joins outside of intersections. Safety is a concern with maintaining a buffer for the intended joins at lane lines, at some point work will have to be done without a buffer. Will an Addendum be issued that is more practical for this project that changes the rubber section that reduces the risk to the contractor as well as creating a safe passage for both the motoring public and contractor?
