Inquiry #1: Will the state please provide a bid item for remove and replace Chainlink fence and gate, as there appears to be quite a few LF within the new Right of way. Also, will the electrical poles be removed by others prior to the contractors work, as they also appear to be in the new Right of way.

Response #2:All the chain link fences and gates within the proposed Right of Way will be removed prior the start of construction. All the electrical poles will also be relocated by respective owners prior to start of construction. Therefore, a bid item is not necessary for these items.

Inquiry #2: The plans show cold planing transitions at beginning, end of project and side streets/roads but there is not a bid item for the cold planing. Also, there is not a quantity on the quantity sheets.

Inquiry #3: Will the state please consider changing the hours where reversing control will be allowed? There are quite a few homes near our work area, and with heavy equipment and backup alarms it seems that this work should be constructed during normal working hours.

Inquiry #4: Will the state please quantify all items and trees that need to be removed, as the plans are unclear of all items that need to be either removed or relocated.

Response #2:Caltrans has addressed removal of trees prior to contract award. After contract award, the Contractor will have responsibility for fulfillment of this obligation per the contact documents. Bid per current contract plans.
