Inquiry #1: In the IH provided there is a site location map Figure #1 PM19.5 to 30.5. There is also a project plan sheet that shows the locations of work for the project. Specifically with regards to the Z-2 ADL soil locations #1, #5 & #6, does the Table 1 ADL data number provided apply directly to the same numbered work site location?

Inquiry #2: In spec section 5-1.25 Automated Machine Guidance control, it mentions submitting a QC plan, having a QC Technician, check testing, grade verification and Grade QC. Will the contractor be required to furnish the state with all of these added costs if we are using the state furnished slope stakes and rough grade stakes, or will this only be required if we elect to not use the State furnished slope stakes and rough grade states?

Response #2:The contractor has the option to use Automated Machine Guidance(AMG) control. If AMG is used, providing a QC plan, a QC technician, check testing, grade verification and Grade QC as described in Section 5-1.25 of the special provisions is required.

The state will furnish survey control points to support AMG as described in Section 5-1.24B Department Construction Surveys for Automated Machine Guidance of the special provisions.

If the contractor does not elect to utilize AMG for construction, then the Department will furnish slope staking as described in Section 5-1.24A of the special provisions.

There is not a specific bid item for AMG. Full compensation for AMG is in the various bid items; reference section 9-1.03 Payment Scope of the Standard Specifications:

Full compensation for work specified in divisions I, II, and XI is included in the payment for the bid items involved unless:

1. Bid item work is shown on the Bid Item List
2. Work is specified as change order work

Response #1:No. Exemption Letter may be generated after clean up, but status of Fee Exemption is not know until after the project closes.
