Inquiry #2: The Special Provisions on page 4, bid item 24, requires the installation of 7,140 SQYD of sod. The Special Provisions on page 13 also calls to make arrangements for supplying nonportable water if water is not available.

Please clarify under what item is the water development being paid. Should there be water development bid item? Should there be an irrigation bid item?

Response #2:
Payment for bid item includes payment for work in sections referenced by the section set forth by that bid item.
Supplying non-potable water is covered by Section 20-1 General, 20-1.02 Materials, 20-1.02B Water.
When the contract item Develop Water Supply is not included in the bid item list, the payment for water supplied for the work shall be considered as included in the prices paid for the items of work involving use of water.

Inquiry #3: After reviewing the cross sections and completing the takeoffs,there was no embankment found on this project. Where is the embankment that is listed in the plans??

Response #2:The embankment shown in the quantity sheet is the excavated soil backfilled with compost amendment to the depth shown on the plan and compacted to 95% relative compaction, and some other backfill.

Inquiry #4: The dirt being disposed of on this project is considered to be contaminated and none hazardous by your specifications. With this material being contaminated it requires disposal at a class 2 dump site. How can section 7 of the special provisions state that the material does not require to be sent to a landfill or disposal facility? Where did the state determine would be an acceptable disposal site?

Response #2:The Roadway Excavation item quantity shown in the estimate is normal roadway excavation. There is no item for any other excavation.
