Inquiry #2: It appears the entire bridge structure is to be removed in whole, including footings. Could you please confirm why the footings would have to be pre-drilled before it is driven.

Inquiry #3: Please reference plan sheet 18. for station BR 171+50 to 177+35 the Roadway Excavation and the Imported Borrow Item equals the Embankment Quantity(N) but for station BR 178+00 yo 184+50 the Roadway Excavation and the Imported Borrow is ~1,083 CY less then the Embankment Quantity. Is it Caltrans intention that the remaining Embankment Quantity(N) is to come from the Detour Removal or will additional material need to be imported?

Yes, the remaining Embankment material for the pullout area, "Br" 178+50 to 182+00 LT, is to come from Bid Item #25 - Roadway Excavation (Detour Removal). Your attention is directed to sheets Q-1 and SCQ-1 of the Project Plans.

Inquiry #4: In reference to Section 13-12, Temporary Creek Diversion System, and Plan Sheet 6, will the required grading, installation of TCDS, as well as the removal of same, be allowed to be performed within the live stream channel and flows?
